Lynn Herbst is an elementary learning disabilities teacher who has been teaching in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District for the past fourteen years. After completing her master's degree program in Administrative Leadership at UW-Milwaukee, Lynn first became actively involved in the WA-WMEA Association as a building rep. She then became a delegate to the West Suburban Council UniServ, where she now serves on the Board of Directors. She served for several years as PR&R (Grievance) Chairperson, which she credits for helping her to "learn the contract," and then, consecutively, was elected as Vice-President. In her last year as Vice-President, Lynn helped to establish the "Crisis Committee," which surveyed members and recommended job actions in response to an unsettled contract. Lynn has served the Association as Association President for three consecutive terms. She also served during that time on the Negotiations Committee. Most recently, Lynn served as Negotiations Chair.
